Just spent a couple of nights in the back country south of Vail pass enjoying the fruits of the recent snowstorm which, among other things, closed DIA for the first time in its short history.

Dinner the second night, after a day of skiing 12" to 18" of fresh powder, was boeuf bourguignon and coq au vin. I brought the Moulin to accompany and it did a fine job. Color and nose were hard to assess given I was drinking out of an enamel coffe mug. The palate showed rather firm flavors of cassis and currant and a hint of earthiness on the finish. Excellent density and concentration for Beaujolais. No tannin to speak of. Good wine, drinking well now, with the potential to soften and open a bit as the acids loosen up.
