- swampguy - 12-08-2007 We are having a fried turkey ( a turkey injected with cajun seasoning and fried whole in peanut oil) So what would you serve with it? I am thinking a big juicy zin. Also, there will be a smoked ham and smoked turkey and was wondering what to serve with them. I was thinking a nice syrah or shiraz. Your ideas? - Drew - 12-08-2007 I like the idea of a zin; american wine with american cuizine. Roses do well with ham but deep reds can be difficult. Others will chime in. Drew - Innkeeper - 12-08-2007 Hi Swampguy and welcome to the Wine Board. I think one of those bigger Pinots from CA Ca land will work with the whole shotten bang. - swampguy - 12-09-2007 That Pinot idea has me thinking Russian River for one of those big juicy wines. I recently had a couple of pinots from New Zealand and Oregon and enjoyed them but they would be too lite for the a cajun Christmas meal. |
