We are having a fried turkey ( a turkey injected with cajun seasoning and fried whole in peanut oil) So what would you serve with it? I am thinking a big juicy zin.
Also, there will be a smoked ham and smoked turkey and was wondering what to serve with them. I was thinking a nice syrah or shiraz.

Your ideas?

I like the idea of a zin; american wine with american cuizine. Roses do well with ham but deep reds can be difficult. Others will chime in.

Hi Swampguy and welcome to the Wine Board. I think one of those bigger Pinots from CA Ca land will work with the whole shotten bang.

That Pinot idea has me thinking Russian River for one of those big juicy wines.
I recently had a couple of pinots from New Zealand and Oregon and enjoyed them but they would be too lite for the a cajun Christmas meal.
