2005 Chateau de la Ragotiere, Muscadet, Sevre et Maine, Sur Lie ($9.99 NH Liq Store). Alcohol level: 12%. A perfect seafood wine.

Gives the eye a pale yellow color with a hint of green. Lime and mint on nose and upfront. More citrus and quite intense minerality (aka Loire dirt) and additional flavor cross the palate, and the finish lasts longer than your average white.

Matched with Chesapeake Crab Cakes, green beans almondine, and rolls dipped in EVOO. Wonderful; and we have a guest to help me with the wine. Yes!!!

Had an '04 tonight; where did the '05s go? We think it might have been too cold, as it got better as it warmed up. The point is, it loses it's umph quickly. We matched it with baked fresh haddock, roasted baby Yukons, and spinach. A very nice Friday dinner.

Picked up an '08 recently after Dan Berger gave it the nod. Popped last night with Lemon Pasta and Roasted Shrimp; and Summer Gold salad with basil. Fantastic.

Lemon pasta with roasted shrimp sounds like the perfect pairing for the wine.

I often do that with shrimp scampi over the pasta. I add lemon thyme.
