- Innkeeper - 03-26-2007 2004 Helderberg Winery, Steen, Stellenbosch ($6.99 Kappy’s, Malden MA). Alcohol level 13.5%. This is very lovely Chenin Blanc. It gives you tropical fruit with pear overtones on the nose and upfront. In the middle you get a nice complexity of fruit including apple and a tinge of honey, and a creamy-smooth and balanced body. It finishes almost unbelievably, going on and on. We matched it with Italian chicken sausages in hoagie buns with salad. Nice Monday night dinner. - hotwine - 03-26-2007 Sounds very nice.... very nice..... Will look for it. - Innkeeper - 03-27-2007 Other half tonight out my half bottle. Didn't lose a thing. Matched with lime broasted chicken breasts, rice pilaf, and minted peas. Is this really Tuesday? - wondersofwine - 03-28-2007 Both the wine and the chicken breast dish sound great. |
