2000 James Paget, Touraine, Cuvee Tradition ($9 Blue Hill Wine Shop). Has to be the best value in the world for a cabernet franc! A ton of red raspberries and redcurrents on the nose and upfront as you might guess. Well structured for a CF at any price, but still had nice fineness in texture. Smooth as a baby's behind, and a two alarm finish. Matched nicely, believe it or not, with grilled NY/KC strip steaks, rubbed with OO and Morton rub. Was back in the BHWS again today, and guess what? I bought another one.

Tonight we had another bottle with sauteed special burgers and batter fried eggplant. It (the wine) was just as good if not better than before.

Every time I'm in the Blue Hill shop, I grab one of these. May have to grab more next time. This is a lovely wine at $9. Last night's match was with grillpanned porterhouse steak with sauteed rooms, OO roasted baby Yukon golds, and baby peas. Simply swell.
