Paid $28.50 at The Wine Merchant (prices tend to be high in North Carolina it seems)
13% alcohol
Pale blush color such as the blush on a peach skin; transparent. Nose of watermelon and not yet ripened strawberries. The palate finds underripe strawberries in line with the nose. On the taste buds it is dry and refreshing but falls short of the pizzazz of some Cotat Sancerre Rouge or Rose' wines I have enjoyed in the past. (I have a 2003 Pascal Cotat Sancerre Rose' to try during August so I will see if it is still holding up.) This Lucien Crochet rose' reminds me of a Blanc de Noir only as a still wine.
