You ever notice when you buy a car, you suddenly start seeing that car all over the place? You never really paid attention before, but now they are everywhere?

I am getting that same feeling with wine. I never paid attention to anything wine until the last month or so. Now, everywhere I look I see or hear talk of it. TV shows all have people sipping the stuff, people on tv and at work talk about a glass, and right this minute on Becker (playing in the other room), people are talking about some woman who drinks wine. The banter went something like, 'so, she's a drinker?" "no, she just likes fine wine."

Is it me, or what!!

nah.....
they have always been there..people have always been talking about it etc etc It's just that you have always overlooked it and have never registered it.

It just happens that when you begin to be interested in wine, you also begin to keep a look out for topics/issues related to wines.
That's why you seem to feel that it is 'popping up' everywhere all of a sudden.

Psychologically, there is an explanation.

an explanation other than I am going crazy over this wine stuff?

txkajun, don't feel too overwhelmed--we have a lot more to go. The U.S. ranks about 29 out of the top 30 industrial countries in per-capita wine consumption. No matter how much you hear or read about the stuff, this still is not a wine-consuming culture. We will get there, but we are not even close right now.

Well, we're trying to do our part to raise the average. It's a tough job, but we can do it if we try harder.

- Thomas - 01-16-2002

I'll bet I try harder than anyone.
Maybe we should have a contest to compare our wine consumption and see who takes in the most. We will have to leave ww out 'cause I am sure he will win the volume-downed contest...

As stated in previous posts a couple of years ago......... or sooner than that, who can remember?

I drink between 1 and 2 bottles of RED wine every day.

My white wine consumption is denegrated (oops wrong word, chuckle) to special occasions when I might have some ham and riesling or some horse douvers and Champagne......... or some eggs benedict and a glass of bubbly......... (ham and cheese an eggs and more eggs!!)

Enjoy!

I can remember consuming up to 2 bottles a day; after that, I am not sure how much I consume until I start the next day...

Mr. D--all those eggs. Talk about sulfides, of the hydrogen type.

Ok youse wimps. Except for New Years, CBs' Birthday, Mine BD, and occassionaly a very joyous occassion I never have a bottle for breakfast. That leaves lunch and dinner.....2
meals........... two bottles. Big deal. WW
