Next week I am going to be in Philadelphia on a bussiness trip. Seeing as I know no one in the town, unless my clients take me out I hope to hit a nice restaurant by myself and have a fantastic meal. (I intend on using my expense report to defray the cost of the meal by $20 and pick up the rest of the tab myself.)

So, does anyone here know of a great place to get a meal with a glass of wine or two? ( I think that my Hotel is near the airport if that matters.)

I have to confess it's been several years since I visited Philadelphia and I can't recall the name of the restaurant my sister and I liked. But a quick web search came up with Brasserie Perrier--sister restaurant to Le Bec Fin-- but more contemporary decor and less expensive. Menu includes French, American and Asian dishes. Sounds nice.
Website is http://www.brasserieperrier.com/index.cfm

If you have time, you really oughtn't leave Philly without having a cheesesteak! This is the place to go, if I remember correctly from the TV special I saw. Check out the website, especially the "how to order" instructions. Then you can say you've been to Philly. http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/

Tyrrell,

You should be aware that many restaurants in the Philly area are BYOB. So, you can trust to the restaurants wine list or bring something you'd really like to drink. Call ahead though because not all do BYOB.
