What is generally-accepted as the best year for Chardonnays, by region? Thanks in advance for your help!

Being that Chard is produced in almost every wine region in the world, you have to give us some parameters.

sorry. california: northern (sonoma, russian river, napa) and central coast. thanks!

Cali Chard has gotten so consistent that you are probably better off sticking to a particular producer or region that you like.
The only exceptions are the extreme years like '94.
Between better winemaking and even weather conditions, vintages are becoming less important for Cali Chard. Don't forget these are usually highly manipulated wines that are not overly dependant on Mother Nature.

Mark,

I found your post in no less than four forums (or is it fori?)

Anyway, the point is: one forum per subject is sufficient--it prevents us from being lured to a number of forums to cover the same subject. In this case, the Chardonnay forum seems appropriate. Rants and Raves definitely is not appropriate.

jason - thanks for the info

foodie - since this is the only forum in which i actually got the answer i was looking for, i suppose it is pretty appropriate, eh? think i'll stick to my effective multi-forum post method...

Welcome aboard...come back often...but PLEASE one post, one folder per
question...it is maddening to open up folder after folder only to find the
same message over and over.
