Took Mother (Bev) to the Lobster Pound Restaurant at Lincolnville Beach tonight. Have written about this place before, and for the more recent arrivals it is actually a full service restaurant right on Penobscot Bay. The hosts were very sorry that we were moving, and as a result we were treated to extra special service that we probably didn't deserve.

We started out splitting a bowl of mussels with the best broth to dip them it in any place we've ever been to. Along with the shellfish came our bottle of '02 "Les Charmes" ($23). She had the broiled salmon dinner and I had the broiled halibut. Both were outstanding; as were all the accomponiments including the hot rolls. For dessert she had cheese cake with strawberries, and moi had Toll House pie.

All very, very nice for less than a C-note.
