My wife and I went to Applebees for dinner this evening..
I had 2 glasses of cabernet to the tune of 5.99 each!
Hay-soose for a chain eatery like Applebees, I think that is a little high!

I know, I should have checked first but I kinda figured about 3.50/glass tops.

In Chicago that would be a bargain!! I don't know of anywhere here - city or suburb that sells wine for less than $4.00 per glass.

Anyone else? What is common in your area?

Damned cheap if you were drinking Harlan.

BTW, six bucks a glass is standard here, and it is usually a 5 ounce pour at best.

$6-$10 per glass in Milwookie is the average range.

I guess I'm used to eating and drinking at the local American Legion where the cab is 2.50/glass.

6 bux at a chain seems high..
If we go to an upscale place here, I wouldn't squawk about 6 bux/glass.

All things considered, the wine must be their biggest money maker..

I'm retired so 6 bux/glass is a little painful..No wonder I wanna start making my own..hehe

We went to Applebees for mid-day and principal meal of the day. I had two glasses of Woodbridge Cab at $4.25 each with their Bourbon Street Steak skillet. Wonderful.

will, don't come to Manhattan. There's a so-called wine bar around the corner from my Manhattan apartment. The place sells wine at a minimum $8 a glass--and that's the wine I know they buy for $4 a bottle. I don't go there.

$8 a glass is, sadly, about average around here. Some glasses are 6oz.

A GLASS? Have no ideer about glass pricing. Can quote time and verse on the bottle cost, howm-so-ebber. ww

Innkeeper,
The wine was 4.25 at midday and 5.99 at dinner??

Maybe they paid more for the "dinner" wine??

Or not.

I'm still a little uncomfortable paying more for 2 glasses of wine than I do for my dinner at a chain that is maybe one step up from Wendys.

That was the regular, not the lunch, menu.
