In NJ we give an spring achievement test called the NJASK. Because it is a deadly test, we have been doing lots of prep and practice tests. One of the practice questions asked the children to compare and contrast the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade to Fourth of July celebrations. One of my darlings came up to me and said, "The Fourth of July....that's in September, right?" Pray for me, please.

She's eight years old. I sent her back to her seat saying, "Rachel, I'm not going to answer that question. Think about what you just asked me." She went back to her seat with a sad look. Soon I heard her say, "Oh." I just laughed at her and shook my head. I say she has a future career with Hallmark. They start selling Fourth of July stuff in September, don't they?
