I was born, spanked, and wrapped in a Green Bay Packers blanket for my baby photos. I grew up in a season ticket-holding family, and I own stock in the Packers, meaning in a small way that it's really MY franchise (Packers are the only publicly-owned NFL team). Today, my favorite player of all time decided to hang up the cleats. It's a very sad day in Packerland.

I came to be a GB fan much later than you did.

Don't be sad. He walks away one of the greatest of all time with a reputation beyond reproach. In this day and age, that is saying a lot. He's earned this retirement....maybe he likes wine and will visit our site?

You feel about the way I did when Joe Montana went to the Kansas City Chiefs and later retired.

I'm observing a sad anniversary of one of my sports heros too. It was 2 years ago today Kirby Puckett died from his stroke. Watching him play was a big part of my youth. I was there for "Game Six" where he had the great catch against the fence and won it with the walk off HR. "And we'll see you tomorrow night".

Can say with certantity that he'll be missed by EVERY sports fan in the world, football or not, because of his exemplary conduct on and off the field. Refreshing in this day of cheaters and egomaniacs, spoiled millionaires, and crybaby atheletes who have contributed little besides their on field heroics to society. I'll miss him too. WW

Yep, grew up a Packers fan..... In my lifetime, he has been the savior for Wisconsin, and the Green Bay Packers. So I will lift up a glass to him every game I watch. He is a true living legend. Thank You Favre!!!!
