- Innkeeper - 12-24-2003 While visiting the Blue Hill Wine Shop yesterday the props advised me that one of their distributors advised them that the folks at Sebastiani are so please with the success of their Pepperwood Grove brand that they are revamping the package (label) and doubling the prices! - winoweenie - 12-24-2003 Now isn't that precious? WW - wineguruchgo - 01-03-2004 Too bad they aren't changing what's in the bottle to reflect a doubling of price. Sold this wine for many years and although it was great for the price it was, I would have a lot of trouble justifying a doubling of price. A spike in price will probably drive away the consumer base they have. Greed is such a terrible thing. - ShortWiner - 01-05-2004 Bummer. I've been a fan, but at twice the price there's plenty of better stuff out there. - Kcwhippet - 01-05-2004 That's Cecchetti-Sebastiani that makes Pepperwood Grove. Most interesting that they would raise prices since they've built a new winery to up their production from @350,000 cases to 1,000,000 cases a year, with Pepperwood Grove being the bulk of the wines made. I'll have to see if I can verify that when I go into the shop tomorrow. - Innkeeper - 03-04-2004 If you will kinkly turn to p. 104 of the March 31 edition of WS, there you will find a full size ad featuring the new label, along with the headline: "Redefined." No mention of prices. - tandkvd - 03-04-2004 Hitting the bottle a little early this morning? kinkly! |
