A fellow named Walt Carpenter over at WLDG did a survey of peoples' two favorite white wine drunk in '03 starting on Dec 9. Sixty different wines were posted. They came from the following countries: France-30, Germany-12, Australia-4, Austria-4, Italy-4, Canada-2, and one each from US, SA, NZ and Argentina. The French wines by region were Alsace-9, Burgundy-9, Loire-8, Champagne-2, other-2.

We had nominated one the Loires and the lone South African. Here is one of kickers; the lone American was the R.R. Phillips Viognier and it as nomiated by a Canadian! Not a single American Chandonnay was nominated! Another surprise was the single Kiwi. With the popularity of Kiwi SB, thought there would be more.
