There's a lovely Barbera d'Asti called La Luna e il Falò (the Moon and the Bonfire). It's named after a wonderful Cesare Pavese novel.
I would strongly recommend both the wine and the novel, perhaps in combination.

Thanks IK. I thought I had read negative reviews of that wine on this board. Too bad, because I think the bottles are pretty. I'll probably treat the astronomer to dinner...it would be fun to have an appropriately named wne. Maybe I can find the one Auburnwine mentioned. and ww, thank you for making me laugh.

Georgie, I have a theory: if the bottles are too pretty, and the production is in numbers close to the national debt, it ain't worth buying.
As for "In Other Words:" ww, set your alarm clock and maybe you will awaken! The guy who wrote the song has expressed complete disatisfaction with the fact that everyone (including me) thought the title was "Fly Me To the Moon." Of course, I have no recollection of the songwriter's name--I am sure he wouldn't like that bit of information-- but I'll scan my sheet music one day and see if I can find it. Got a Sinatra songbook it must be part of, but it ain't in my possession this week.

The songwriters were Bart/Howard/and Cypres.
In Other Words may be the "official" title but I'll give you a dollar for every Recording thar calls it that iffn' youse'll give ole weener a dime for every " Fly Me To the Moon " I can produce. Oscar recorded the sucker himself 11 times that I've found and not one " In ubber Wordly " has I found yet. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/biggrin.gif[/img] ww

ww, I read a story that the writers, early on, got truly upset when the title was flipped on them; they pointed out that the words "fly me to the moon" only open the song--the words "in other words" carry all through the song. But they apparently lost the war and amended their copyright.
I'm sending a bucket of dimes C.O.D.!
Just thought of another moon song I love--Old Devil Moon (Harburg and Lane).

It was too cloudy to see the moonrise so, sadly, I had to cancel that part of the evening. But the classroom part went fine and all of your suggestions for moon tunes really helped. The parents were a little shy to sing in front of each other, but with lots of encouragement I got a few lines out of them! It was fun.

Too bad about that. Last night as I was going to the airport in Rio there was an AMAZING full moon right over the Cristo Redemptor on Corcovado with just a few clouds to give some texture....
