Buckster's a pessimist.

Drew, the company I recommend most often is David Klose of Houston; you can see his products at www.bbqpits.com. Randy's pit was built by a welder in his area; his site is www.olallawelding.com.

Klose was an oil-field welder who had built pits on the side, then found he needed to do it full-time when drilling activity went bust in the 1980's. When drilling picked back up, he had already established a good rep with his pits, so he's continued that enterprise ever since. Ships 'em all over the world - hand-made, custom-designed. That's the kind of personal attention Randy got with his local welder, too. Can't beat it. I look on 'em as being built not for the buyer but for the buyer's future generations.
