Does anyone else love this wine? For the price and the overall taste?

Hi Habenero, and welcome to the Wine Board. Jacobs Creek produces Cabernet Sauvignon at a few different price points. Which one are you referring to?

- wondersofwine - 06-23-2008

I have included Jacob's Creek basic Cabernet Sauvignon before in lists of good QPR (quality-to-price ratio)wines. It's been quite awhile since I've purchased or tried any though.

This would be under $10 for the bottle.

That's a good value, and reasonably consistant from year to year.

Another one of my favs in the same price range would be Columbia Crest

Also a very good value and a consistant producer. Both these wines are fine everyday drinkers, but neither would I chose for a special occasion and/or with a special steak.

I guess the reason why I haven't tiptoed into the higher priced wines is that I don't want to spend $$ on a stinker. If I could find a wines with that taste profile in the higher priced ranges I'd try it

You might look for the Finca El Portillo Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina. It is slightly more expensive at around $12, it is more than just a step up from the other two.

Thanks for the comeback, will try it!
