There has been a discussion on another forum stemming from the recent Gallo acquisition of the Los Rocas brand. There was general agreement that in buyouts outside the U.S. they have left hands of the local management and production. There is conflicting opinion about domestic brands and L.M. Martini in particular. Some think that quality has decreased, others think no change, and at least one sees improvement. I’m, interested in what you guys and gals think.

I hate to see consolidation of that type, on the belief that customers and employees lose out to the suits in the long run.

Carl,

I haven't had a Martini wine in a long while, but with Gallo's general technological advanced stage, and its overall nearly flawless wine production, why would the quality necessarily go down?

Is it a matter of spreading company policy too thin? Wouldn't surprise me if that's the answer, 'cause like Hotwine, I don't care much for all the consolidation in the wine world--or the world in general!
