Where was that stuff years ago when I was more serious about racing? Nowadays we're more cruisers than racers, though we do enter about 6 or 8 races a year. Real, died-in-the-wool racers wouldn't pop a sparkler on the way out of the harbor, or open a bottle or two on the downwind legs.

I didn't check the website, but guessing boat racing. I'm more landlocked thus land racing. Heading to Ky speedway for the IRL race sat evening, anyone else in the area? WP

The only racing I do is the 60-yd sprint to the winecellar between raindrops.

wish we had some raindrops!

In me younger years I raced sports cars and can assure you there was no way I'd touch even a heavily carbonated drink afore a race. Can see that drinking and driving laws have merit. WW

We haven't hit another boat yet - or capsized.

I was in Vancouver last week and they had a bit of a regatta there at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, which also constituted I think part of the time trials for the US olympic team. I flew over the race in a single engine seaplane. What a sight to see. Dozens of boats all out in the bay.

WW, So you raced sports cars. That explains your driving habits and impatience with Amish buggies.
You also played jazz some didn't you? What else?

Yeppo WOW and KC them sailer-thingies done' hit 160 mph so even in your "relaxed state" you have enough reaction time to avert the other boozers on the water.WW
