I will try to post a link to an article about two members of the Old Guard who were on the Reagan funeral detail.

http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Jun2004/n06102004_200406101.html

It didn't cut and paste in highlighted format so you may have to enter it on the URL line with your keyboard to view the article. I'm still only partially computer literate.

Thanks, Wow. Those troops were absolutely superb! Held my breath as they traversed those steps into and out of the Capitol, hoping the ol' Prez wouldn't become a battering ram on the incline. I didn't see any of them miss a beat, anywhere in the whole week of ceremonies. Wonderful. I've always considered a tour on "burial detail" every bit as meaningul as a combat tour.

Visited daughter and son-in-law in College Station yesterday, and thought about staying over to see George the Elder make his fifth jump; decided against it and came on home last night. Sure enjoyed watching it on Fox today, though.

Thanks for posting that link; didn't know it existed.

My wife escorted a fellow medical resident home to TN after he committed suicide (sad case). It stayed with her for years afterward........
