I didn't return to work until Tuesday. Had some terrific German wines and a 1977 Graham Port and a very nice Muja Rioja Gran Reserva Enea Prado (spelling?) from 1995. I took a regular 2000 Muja Reserva, two 1999 Italian wines (a Ciacchi Piccolomino Ateo that was drinking very well (Sangiovese with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon blended in) and a Vicara Rubello (Barbera Superiore with 5-10% Cabernet Sauvignon blended in from Montferrato north of Albi and Asti). Also took a 2001 Christoffel Erdener Treppchen Spatlese which I didn't get around to opening and left for whomever and two smaller bottles of German Eisweins--a Eugen Muller Forster Scheurebe Eiswein (Pfalz region) and a Kurt Darting Muskatteller Eiswein (also Pfalz I believe). I thought the Scheurebe was more lush and enjoyable. I picked up four German wines and a half bottle of Volnay (Burgundy) at Village Corner shop in Ann Arbor to take home with me. - Innkeeper - 09-01-2004 It was a rave and the wines sound great too. - dananne - 09-01-2004 That '95 Muga is a very nice wine, and I think the '00 will be great in a few years (though drinking nicely already). I'm a big fan of their wines. - wondersofwine - 09-01-2004 I am too. First had them at a horizontal tasting of 94 Muga Riojas. - Bucko - 09-02-2004 She sure gets around! Maybe she'll make it to the great state of Washington. - wondersofwine - 09-02-2004 I plan to, Bucko. |
