- tandkvd - 08-04-2003 This is one of the wines I tasted at the Total Wine opening the other day. I had compared it side by side with the Chateau Montroche Grenache/Syrah. At the tasting the Gumdale was much lighter than the Montroche. I mostly bought the Gumdale for the price, $5.99. Our twenty-three year old daughter invited us over last night for dinner, and she made an Italian dish. I took the Gumdale, and it was very good. The bottle discription is good, "medium bodied and soft, with lingering spicy fruit". Sounds right to me. A definate wine to keep on hand. Oop's, I had meant to post under the Australian wine colum.
