Which wine would be proper to serve to adults at a High School graduation drop-in party? Finger sandwiches, veggie trays, fruits, dips, and cake will be served?

Hi Greg and welcome to the Wine Board. If the participants are under 21, none. Please advise.

If you mean the parents of the high schoolers then they will be over 21. For a crowd you may want to go with inexpensive but tasty choices such as a chilled Riesling Kabinett or Spatlese (maybe from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region of Germany) or a Vouvray from France or a Viognier from France or California as a white. Consider a Bogle Merlot or Cline Zinfandel (both from California) as a red wine. Or you may want to go with white and red wines from the Sancerre region of France (only slightly more expensive than some of the other choices.)

Innkeeper, The wine would be server to only the parents of the High Schoolers. None to the students.

No problem, we do have to be a little careful around here. For crowded parties with finger food it is hard to beat C.K. Mondavi (different from Robert Mondavi Wines) Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvigon in 1.5 liter bottles. They are not the least expensive, but the extra buck or two is worth it.
