who they were dealin with.

We took our son and one of his friends to Red Lobster for lunch today. He will be 14 on wednesday, so this was his choice of restaurants. We all have liked this restaurant since it opened about 1 1/2 years ago, for the food and great service.

To day we went and I was wanting the coconut shrimp and the Fetzer SB, that I had the last time we went. But was informed that the coconut shrimp was a temperary item. So I went with the lemon pepper shrimp and ordered the Fetzer SB. The waiter brought our salads and a few minutes later he came back with the drinks, and he set down a red wine in front of me. I politly told him that I had ordered the Sauvingnon Blanc. He said "yes that is what I bruoght you". I told him that the last time I checked SB is a white wine. Looking confused, he said "no Cabrnet is red." I said "yes Cabrnet Sauvingnon is red but Sauvingnon Blanc is white." He then saw his mistake and politley took the glass and said he would be right back. When he returned he informed me that they were out of the Fetzer SB (which was the only SB they carried). I then ordered the Ecco Dominco Pinot Grigo (spelling?). This was the first PG I have had with food. It was supprizingly good. The only other PG I had was at a wine tasting. It was with a SB, and after tasting the SB the PG tasted weak.

Buy the way we had to wait on a table for over 20 minuites at 2:00 in the afternoon. The 12" of snow we had yesterday, has melted to less than 1", and a lot of ground is showing. It has been near 60 deg. today. Everyone was out today.

Ya gotta love the South!

Tandkvd,

I had quite the opposite thing happen years ago when I was a waiter.

Older couples comes in and the wife orders a glass of chardonnay for the husband. I bring the wine and she says (very snotty) "Chardonnay is NOT white wine". I was stunned!

"Yes, ma'am, Chardonnay is white wine. Sir, did you want a Cabernet? A red wine"?

He was embarrassed and said "Yes".

The lady apologized to me when I returned with the wine. Betcha she doesn't do that again!
