I heard on the radio this morning that the according to the Alaskan Wildlife and Game Federation (or whatever group it was that knows about these things) states that while both genders of reindeer have antlers, male reindeer lose theirs in early November. Females do not lose them until spring when they give birth. This means that all of those reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh must be female. Doesn't it figure? Leave it to the women to get the job done and to not get lost in the process! Of course, I think all of them probably hate "Vixen."

I hope you're all having a good time planning for the big day. I, myself, am in a state of controlled hysteria. Wish I had another week....

I wish we had another month! For some reason this year seems to be more discombobulated than usual, but we will persevere and have a wonderful time with our family and friends.

Remember,

They are MAGIC reindeer. They can do anything including fly....so the antler thing would be simple....perhaps a holographic projection attachment on the head (damn the engineer in me is coming out again).

In Brooklyn, in our tenement apartment, the landlord claimed that the hole in the wall he had not fixed for years was there to leave a space for Santa to enter, and that the reason for the leaks in the ceiling was the ruts in the roof left by his reindeer; NY City landlords are the original leavers of coal...

I wonder if he used that excuse with any Jewish or Moorish tenants...

Andy,

Santa has no religion...at least that's what I was told. I am sure the landlords hadn't any religion either, only worshipped the U.S. mint.

Santy Claus got not religion? In the sense that he's an atheist, or just a non-conformist embracing everything from pantheism to theism?

Hey, remember Santa Claus is named for Saint Nicholas, a Catholic Saint and Bishop of Myra. At our Episcopal Church we have the annual visit of the Bishop of Myra to distribute candy and trinkets to the children. (No religion indeed!)
