Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

- hotwine - 10-07-2005

Gotta be happy for the ChiSox IK. Their first division win since 1917.

- TheEngineer - 10-07-2005

I was rooting for a good series.....wtf happened to the Red Sox??? Go ChiSox!!!! I was hoping that it would be the Cubs instead but this Chicago team will do just fine!

- winoweenie - 10-08-2005

Did they settle the Hockey strike allreadie?? WW

Yeah....and my Leafs are as pathetic as they have been in the last 38 years....with all the clutch and grab eliminated this year (and we'll see about that...) the slow Leafs just won't have a chance against the Ottawa Senators this year....

As an aside, I have a cliet up in Ottawa that has lot five bets in a row to me during playoff times. His Sens have lost five playoff series in a row to the Leafs. and I went from two bottle to now 32 bottles that he owes me (double or nothing each time....I guess I should just go and collect).

Well, as a MA dweller, at least I can take comfort in the old saying. If it's not the Sox, I'm routing for anyone but the Yanks.

- Georgie - 10-11-2005

Well said! All the little 8-year-old Yankee fans in my class are very sad this morning. I have to really control expressing my own glee over a Yankee-less series!

- PinotEnvy - 10-11-2005

It will indeed be a differant year this year. All the "they're in it every year" teams are out. The Braves who have won their didivsion every year since '91 are every bit as done as the Yankees and Bo-Sox.

- californiagirl - 10-11-2005

At this point, we're rooting for the no Yankees, no Braves teams. I was impressed with the Angels' pitcher last night. One heck of a knuckle and slider, but some of those Yankee sluggers to shame!!

- wondersofwine - 10-13-2005

I wouldn't have minded a Boston repeat but now I'm rooting for a Midwest series between White Sox and Cardinals.

- wineguruchgo - 10-27-2005

Have to say Congrats!!! to Chicago White Sox. The city was a little nuts last night - could hear fireworks going off and thousands of people driving around honking horns.

Such a great thing for our city. I only wish they did it here instead of there. I felt sorry for the fans of Houston getting swept 4-0.

Congratulations Sox!

- wondersofwine - 10-27-2005

A lot of nice aspects including a rookie major leaguer pitching the closeout innings, Houston keeping all the games competitive (especially with fourteen innings--I didn't stay up for that one), Chicago's long championship drought in baseball, a manager that baseball players seem to like and respect, etc.

- dananne - 10-27-2005

I'm thrilled. I have to admit, though, that I'm glad it was a sweep. I'm WAY behind on my sleep, especially after staying up with the 14 inning game 3, then to watch all the postgame stuff last night (too excited to go right to sleep after that).

- hotwine - 10-27-2005

Was hoping the 'Stros would be more competitive as promised in the NLCS, but happy for the Sox. The 'Stros were badly out-gunned. Manager will probably be unemployed REAL soon, given some of his pitching decisions. Fun series, though. Will be a week catching up on sleep.
