The 1999 Jed Steel Pinot Noir (13% alcohol) was very nice and fruity. The 1998 Siverado Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was drinking nicely now. (Recommend purchasing 1998 California cabs for current consumption; better years for storing/aging). Silverado did not produce a reserve c.s. in 1998 but does have a single-vineyard cab--1998 Silverado Stags Leap District, about $60 a bottle. I was impressed with an Inniskillen Eiswein from Canada and a 1998 Chateau De Cosse Sauternes (a second label from Rothschild) at $40 retail. There were also a fair number of wines I was happy to pour out rather than swallow. I somehow missed some of the ports and good white burgundies reported about on the forum on the wineloverspage.com I did feel the Grand Tasting on Saturday was somewhat less crowded than in the past. The explanation may be that the stormy weather Saturday kept the "day trippers" from coming over by ferry or plane. I had been on the island since Tuesday so that was not a problem. (The ferry crossing was a little choppy on Tuesday but at least the ships were running.)
Reported earlier on a tasting of Geyser Peak wines during the Festival Week but held at a liquor store.
