Hubby's birthday dinner request. I love SB, but is that the best choice?

Georgie,

Shrimp has a delicate sweetness to it that pairs really well with fruity wines, white or light red.

For a scampi, how about trying out a (white) Vermentino, Vernaccia, Verdicchio, Orvieto or (red) Lagrein, Valpolicella, Bardolino?

See what the wine shop has.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll see what I can find. Much appreciated, foodie.

Prosecco wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Mainly because of it's ability to scrub you tongue of garlic and oil.

mmm I love prosecco, and it's rather festive!

Prosecco would be fine, too.

A nice cava might also work. Two we've enjoyed recently are the Marques de Galida Cava Brut Reserva and the Codornui Cava Brut Anna de Codornui, both made from Pinot Noir and therefore pink. Very festive and refreshing, in the $11-$12 range.

Thanks, guys!
