After writing about the Mountain Dome "Nome" label in the NW thead I started thinking about other ugly wine labels that I've come across. The Mountain Dome takes the cake for me, what are some of the uglyist labels the rest of you have seen?
& Why not toss in one or two of the best labels you've seen as well for balance! I enjoy the "Shooting Star" labels because they have a unique feel to them, and I love the strength of "Pride's" label, it truly reflects what's inside.

Hi again ChittyChatty
There are lots of labels that are plain awful, but I think you're talking about kitch, rather than the truly ugliest. Then there's the curious and the naughty. I was always curious why the lady on the original Starbucks (yeah, I know it's coffee) logo in Seatle bears her breasts, yet everwhere else she's covered up. ATF apparently. Anyway, to get back to wine labels. I saw one in Marlborough, New Zealand about 10 years ago that had a cartoon horse with a target on its backside. The name of the wine was Horse's Hit .... think about it.

Tom,
That Starbucks lady used to get some distastful graffiti in a certain placs as well, an artistic addition shall we say. Think that the original design had a bit of a change. & I agree, it's odd. Kitch can be cool, (the Nomes label is truely ugly though, bad layout, colors, font). I bought a wine in Canada that is simply called " Rotting Grape" which has a hee-lar-ious label explaning how to enjoy wine, and a step by step cartoonas well.
