Picked up some sales at Sam's Club. Hopefully I got some good stuff. They had a clearance sale, 2000 Chateau Ste Michelle Cold Creek Cab for $4.91, 2 left. And 2000 Dry Creek Vineyards Sonoma Cty Cab for $4.91, also 2 left. Also got a Louis Jadot Beaujolais for $1.91. (and 2 2002 Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc for $8.11)

So are any of these going to be good?

The Ch. Ste. Michelle Cab is quite good, and should drink well for about another 8 years or so. Usual retail is about $28. The Kim Crawford is last year's vintage, the 2003 is on the shelves now, so drink soon. It usually retails about $15.

I think you'll like the Kim Crawford S.B. I liked the 2002 and think probably most vintages are quite good. A real bargain.
I also like the Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages but haven't tried the regular Beaujolais which is one cut lower.

CG Dave Strae is one of the more reliable producers in Sonoma. Has a lovely property in Dry Creek so can only say you have made one of our members extremely jealous with your buying acumem. Drewski will probably not post for weeks because of his pouting. WW

We recienty got a Sam's Club here. But I haven't seen the deals or the good wines you all talk about west of the Mississippi. Just average supermarket wines.

WOW- I also picked up the Beaujolais-Villages for $6.91- I just forgot to include that one. I got both of them to compare the differences.

tankdvd- usually they have 2 shopping areas, the everyday ones and 2 large tables with wine crates that have the better ones for good prices.

ww- they also have Insignia for $76.99, 1999 vintage. Had I the extra $$, I would have picked up a couple. KC said it was a good one.

Now I'm jealous about the Beaujolais-Villages.
