Have verbally told a lot of you about this great lil quaffer but don't believe I had a chance to post before the great internet fade-away. A blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Grenache, and Sangiovese this is a killer wine for ENNY thin that comes off a grill. 10-12 bucks a clatter. WW

Great minds think alike. Just bought a few the other day on a rec. from one of my wine guys.

Wow!!! What at great value. Had some of the '02 tonight with something out of Paula Pecks old book called "Greek Beef Stew." I think we are going to get three meals out of the recipe as we modified it, but not out out the Sonoma Red. One more at best, if I don't sneek in and finish it! It was $9.99 in the Downtown Hookset (as opposed to the I-93 store) N.H. Liq Store. That store was the best one we have been in including the one at Portsmouth Traffic Circle. One of these things is not like the other! The northbound one on I-95 just got a big award from Food and Wines.

An odd thing about the Sonoma Red. The bottle on display (an '02) had a differnt label than the '02s down below stored horizontally. The guy at the checkout who appeared to be in the managerial chain said they change the label two or three times a year! Now, why would they do that??? Other than the artwork, the labels are identical.

As usual the clerks in the store know bumpkus. EVERY lable in a case has a different bunch of red spots on them. Don't know how many total lables they've produced but I just checked and the last 2 cases I have are all different. Great marketing ploy. WW

We enjoyed another bottle of the '02 tonight with the last of our last Beef a'la Mode that was in the freezer and heated up in our ole time double boiler like mother used to have. Also had oven roasted potatoes and a nice salad. All enjoyed by candlelight. Does Wednesday night get any better?
