Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma, CA
13.5% alcohol; $12.99
The color was a pretty, dark violet with crimson glints. The wine had a viscous texture forming legs on the sides of the glass. Nose of cassis, blackberry and possibly cocoa (maybe cocoa mint). Delivers a mouthful of dark fruits, including canned plums, and a four-lapper finish. I decided to try to rate it on the Davis 20-pt. scale and ended up with 17 (equivalent to 85 on a 100-pt. scale or very good). As a QPR I would rate it 85/95 on Bucko's system. My best under $15 Cal Cab find. (I haven't yet tried the Avalon Napa that WW liked).

Seems like the last 3 vintages have been good for this bottling. Nice to see consistant wine making.
