What do people think would pair well with chicken done with a raspberry honey-mustard glaze?

- hotwine - 01-25-2010

mmmmm..... maybe iced tea?

or sweet tea vodka?

A berry-flavored Beaujolais or Pinot Noir.

I think I would agree with WoW. If it was the summer I'd say Rose! Also, perhaps some gwertz?

what about jerk chicken? I've been looking for a good pairing for jerk! Ya Mon...

I jerk a lot of foods, no comments from the peanut gallery please, and make my own jerk sauce. The allspice flavor in jerk really makes it difficult, if not impossible, to pair with wine. Bubblies have probably been the closest to an acceptable match but we usually serve with beer. If done properly, as you know Alex, the spiciness does not lend itself to wine, imho.

Fortunately Zinfandel like Riesling is made in a multitude of variations. When it come to spice, if you have a feel for what is out there, you can usually find a Zin to match. I lieu of this, or if you don't have the time to bother, do what Drew and we do, opt for brew.

Pinot noir is a very good match with chicken!
