N/V Prosperity Red Cabernet Sauvignon ($6.95). This is a second or third bottling from Firestone. Came with the wider we are hosting tonight. As fate would have it we had planned a skirt steak and snow pea stir fry, and it wnet just fine with it.

Actually it is made at the Curtis Winery which does fall under the Firestone umbrella. Yet just like the Mondavi/Byron relationship, Curtis is left alone to do their own thing.

Personally, I like the Merlot far better than the cab. It's a great wine for the price.

I sell both the Prosperity and Curtis lines here in Chicago and I have to admit...I'm a huge fan of both lines.

The only problem I have is you never know how old it is unless there some tipoff code on the bottle. Our guest gets one every year from her stockbroker, and "just grabbed one" when we picked her up!

P.S. We told her how much it cost!!!
