I thought I posted on this beauty but you know what WW sez...
I bought a case 6 weeks ago and with discount paid $6.40 per bottle. Tons of sweet cassis, dark plum, cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. Med. bodied and plenty of fine grained tannins to carry this bottle for several years. One of the best under $10 cabs I've had in a long time. Just a notch below the stellar '97 which I still have several bottles of (wished I had several cases of) 13.5% Alc/vol. seen all over this area at $8 to $10 single bottle.

drew: how would you say this compares with the '99? i've got two cases of it (actually liked it better than the '97) and it is really hitting its stride right now. decant the 99 for an hour or two and you have a completely mature, delicious cali cab.

BTW, just got back from vacation and saw your e-mail here at work. sorry we couldn't meet up, but will try again next time.

Yea Keith, it's been tough to socialize with the recent events...mom in law is doing much better though. As for the '99, I don't think I've tried it. I seem to have forgotten about the Gallo Sonoma until recently when I spotted it and grabed a bottle. I'll see if I can find a '99 bottle. BTW, the '01 also shows much better after an hour or two decanted.
