2003 Mas de Boislauzon, Unfiltered, Cotes du Rhone Villages ($11.99 Chambers Street). Alcohol level: 14%. As some of you may be aware this is also a CDP producer. So this one could be a mini CDP or simply the bottom of their line. Actually, despite the vintage, it was a very nice wine, and still available in various places.

Gives you red currant, fig, and cherry fruit on the nose and tongue tip. Lusty, fruit rich, complexity with smooooth tannin and no sediment (it was unfiltered) cross the palate. The finish was delightful.

Matched the first half with warmed over leg of lamb slices in gravy, with the last of the flageolets, and salad in raspberry/hazelnut dressing. The second half, several hours later with crackers. One of the best '03s from this region we've had.
