- TheEngineer - 03-07-2006 Convinced that I had wanted a Croze hermitage tonight, I scrounged around until I found this bottle. Garnet purple in color, Nose is rather gamey and like a wet forest, old cedar. Some red fruits but also a bit peppery. Pretty densely flavored. and medium finish and a bit longer persistence. Seems to be older than it is. - brappy - 03-07-2006 Love this wine....Thanks for the note. - winoweenie - 03-08-2006 One of my favorite producers in the Rhone. Not really a big fan of the Croze area tho. WW [This message has been edited by winoweenie (edited 03-08-2006).] - TheEngineer - 03-08-2006 WW, I agree with that. My favourite region in the Northern Rhone is Hermitage and then 2000 Cote Rotie. The last hermitage I had was the 1990 Chapoutier and that was just magic. The last Cote Rotie was from Rene Rostaing and I can still remember the waves of flavours rolling in on my like successive waves...very very nice. Seemed to go over pretty well. |
