Inky in the glass with a lighter garnet rim. Deep blackberry, meat, iron, earth and bitter chocolate flavors. Some fine grained tannins on the linguring finish. Nice syrah from this producer. Bottle says less than 250 cases made. 14.5% Alc/vol. $28
Served with Australian filet mignon which, for me, was disappointing. Eileen says her cut was tender and good but mine was slightly tough with a strong, almost gamey flavor. Bought it on sale at one of our local grocery stores and didn't realize it wasn't USA meat until I got home. Don't know if this is their style or a fluke but yuk for me. (Nice wine though)
