Hadn't encountered this southern Rhone since the '01 vintage and was able to snag a couple last week. Deep opaque red in the glass, nice nose of red fruit and white pepper on a forest floor, more red fruit and spice on the palate, graceful finish, gone too quickly like a nymph in the night. 13.5% alc/vol and about $11 at the discounter (more than doubled in five years). With smoked brisket, ranch-style beans, potato salad and cole slaw. Dee-lish! Hope he has more!
