1999 Hugues Beaulieu Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet

Made from the massively popular noble variety known as Picpoul. Not an exciting wine but very food friendly. Solid fruit, a medium feel, good acid and a descent finish.

It worked well with a basil pesto sauce on angelhair pasta last night and chicken stir fry (honey, orange juice, ginger, soy sauce) tonight. It should go well with a wide variety of foods.

Has a neat shaped bottle. Was 10 bucks. A bit much for a wine that isn't that overly exciting. But I am alway experimenting and this was a region in france I hadn't treked through. Got another oddball french appellation to try later.
