ARE NEW WORLD WINES LESS EXPENSIVE THAN FRENCH WINES? WHY WILL A GUEST ORDER FOR A NEW WORLD WINE IF HE HAS A CHOICE OF FRENCH WINES?

- Innkeeper - 09-02-2006

Some New World wines are less expensive than French wines, and some French wines are less expensive than New World wines. Some French wines such as the Vines de Pays (VdP) are like inexpensive New World wines. Wines from all regions vary in price and quality.

Very generally speaking, New World wines are more boisterous and French wines are more restrained.

I think that a lot of people are concerned about the price of the wine they order. Personally I think that you should be more concerned with what your taste buds enjoy.
