2000 Chateau Lamartine, Cahors (around $10 Blue Hill Wine Shop). Very nice malbec, that we had with some wine and cheese (with crackers) tonight following my operation yesterday. The cheese was a hard "Drunken Goat" that we found in our local super market. It matched very well with this "Old World" variation that brought back memories. The grapes came from all over Cahors, so it was not estate bottled, yet you could taste a lot of dirt in it. It was sediment free, so that is not what I am talking about. It had a lot of the same characteristics as some of the New World versions that I have tried, but different on the side of finesse. Will continue to try these from both sides of the pond.

Thanks. It was one of those "man things." Surfice to say, it has taken the zing out of my pace for a few days.

- Thomas - 07-03-2003

Ah, the joy of man things--in two weeks this man has one of his own.

Stay well, IK, and stay wined...

IK, Aren't you a bit old for THAT procedure? That is if you're referring to the old snip-snip.

- Innkeeper - 07-03-2003

You are right, a little to old for that. This procedure was more appropriate to my age. Something you young guys can look forward to.
