The experimenting continues.

Clear dark ruby. Nose of cherries, plums, tar, eathiness, perhaps a touch of brett. For me, a lot of CDP typicity with a peppery finish and a firm wall of tannins. I like it. 65% grenache, 20% syrah, and 15% mourvedre. Great bistro wine--cries out for steak frites. About $19 in NYC; no doubt somewhat cheaper before the '98 Rhone hype--but there's not many 98 Rhones left here in NYC.
