- hotwine - 06-15-2002 This poor orphan turned up yesterday in the trunk of my 90-year-old mom's car, where I had apparently left it as much as a year ago after a wine-shopping trip while she was having her weekly hair appointment. There was no leakage around the capsule, but the cork was wet clear through; wasn't optimistic that it was still drinkable. However, poured it tonight anyway to accompany oak-grilled burgers and hoped for the best, and Eureka! Still good! Lots of black pepper and blackberries on the nose and palate, and a nice strong finish. Alcohol is 13.5%, and there were 190 cases produced. Believe it was about $10, but since I lost it before entering it into the database, price and source are unknown. - winoweenie - 06-16-2002 Good thing she only drove it on the two cold, rainy days they had last year in so. Texas. Don't you love those Love those air-conditioned garages? WW [This message has been edited by winoweenie (edited 06-16-2002).] |
