- Drew - 11-10-2006 2001 Firestone Santa Ynez Valley Syrah Mocha infused Blackberry, fruit forward style syrah. Well made with nice depth. 13.5%Alc/vol. $15 2003 Klinker Brick "Farrah" Syrah (Lodi) Tastes more like an Oregon/Wash. State syrah. Deep blackberry with hints of mocha, spice, chocolate cherries and a little oriental 5 spice. An earthy style, very enjoyable. 14.2%Alc/vol. $15 Drew - TheEngineer - 11-10-2006 Agree with the Firestone Drew. We opened cases of that for a user conference this week and it was pretty popular. Went well with the food Wolfgang Puck brought along for dinner... ..oh wait...I think it was a different vintage but same notes. Some earth and tar notes have emerged and the wine has put on some weight. Great food pairing btw. Drew |
