One of our Thanksgiving wines, this was a hit with our new deacon. Medium gold color with clarity. Very aromatic. What I find to be a typical Gewurz fragrance but I can't really describe it. (Others mention lychees in connection with Gewurztraminer but I don't have enough experience with lychees to see if that descriptor works here). This wine had some pepper or white pepper spice which I like in a Gewurz. Some slight chewiness mid-palate. Showing attractively at the five-year mark. This is from the grocery store and I may go back for more($15.99) (The 2004 Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages was $8.99 and yesterday I picked up a 2001 Grand Archer Cabernet Sauvignon from Arrowood for $14.99 which I will open later in the week.)
