Had a leftover bottle from the big Eve. Used it to pair with a late-night New Year's Day dinner of broccoli rape sausage with red peppers, onion and garlic (and a simple sauce) on a piece of crusty French bread. It was PERFECTION!

I do like the Roger. ...

Ditto, one of our two house sparklers.

I do, too. Just don't have any on hand at present. Nothing but Clicquot NV, Taittinger NV, and '89 Grande Dame. What's your #2 house sparkler, Bucko?

- Bucko - 01-02-2001

Pol Roger Brut, Lanson Brut, and LaSalle anything.... especially the Cuvee Angeline.

My current house sparkler is DOM, because I have several bottles of it..... Maybe that tells you something.

I don't have very many bottles of Krug, J. Schramsberg (Cali sparkling), Perrier-Jouet Fleur, or any of the others I've discussed recently. I don't have them on hand, because I've drunk them.

The Dom just sits there looking regal. Guess I'll have to drink it sooner or later. Maybe sooner the better......

The Krug is reserved for my birthday celebration which is only about a month away.

I still tend to gravitate toward the Iron Horse Blanc de Blanc. I thought that was a pretty good sparkler in years past. Not Champagne, for sure, but still a good bubbly.

I've always liked the Iron Horse sparklers.

Hi Ebberbody, I`m fully recovered and functional again. Bucko, I too love the Lanson. This Xmas it was my Present for my large customers. It went down to under 20 per bottle in case lots in Nov so I loaded up on it. We had (4 `Ub usens) 5 bottles to watch the feetballs on NYD. A beautiful mousse with lots of citrus components with the dough. Lovely. WW
