I`m workin` as a waiter in Bulgaria. I`d like very much to find a guide or any publication for pairing food&wine. In my country there`s no such one. I can be helpful with info `bout Bulgarian wines. Thank you!!!

Since you have internet access, I'd suggest that you search Barnes and Noble or Amazon for titles that include "Food and Wine".

I am sure that you will come up with a number of interesting titles.

A couple of publications I use include Larousse Encyclopeadia of Wine and Wine with Food by Joanna Simon.

Hope you find some good reference material. However the best reference material you will ever find is your own experiences as you personally experiment with different food and wine combinations.

Use your personal experience to enhance or ever supercede what you learn from the "books".........

See if you can find a copy of "Red Wine with Fish" by David Rosengarten and Joshua Wesson. It attacks this on an empirical instead of a traditional basis and is a fun read besides.

My Bulgarian friends here insist on drinking GRAPPA with the salad course. Are they just drunks or is that the done thing there?

Thank you guys for your advices!
In Bulgaria it`s normal a bottle of GRAPPA or any other rakia to be drunk by 2-3 people
before lunch or diner.
Roberto, I recommend coming in the BG to see many other amazing things about the drinking...
