- VouvrayHead - 11-16-2007 This is a step-up NV cuvee... $60 Chardonnay heavy and more oak than typical is the m.o. for this house. Couldn't find the Disgorgement date. Big, bold nose with lots of doughy citrus notes and a definite hint of something meaty... Bacon almost (keep in mind, I haven't tasted bacon in 20 years). Assertive on the palate with bright citrus and pear with plenty of creaminess and spice on a rich finish. Nice wine, indeed. That said, I like the Egly NV better for $20 less, or the Vilmart Cuvee Creation vintage for $25 more... |
